Cruisin' Thru the Cozies Challenge

I'm joining the Cruising thru the Cozies Reading Challenge sponsored by Yvonne at Socrates' Book Reviews.  I've decided to challenge myself to reach the Super Sleuth level, which means I need to read 13 or more cozy mysteries by the end of the year.

I really like cozies, so I was a little surprised to realize how few I've read so far this year:

  • Gone West (Daisy Dalrymple #20) by Carola Dunn
  • The Twelve Clues of Christmas (Her Royal Spyness #6) by Rhys Bowen
  • The Library Lovers mystery series #1-3 by Jenn McKinlay (I combined the first three books into a single review, but I suppose they count as three separate books for the challenge.)
  • Valley of the Shadow, by Carola Dunn.  I'm counting this as a cozy, even though the amateur sleuth's niece, a secondary POV character, is a policewoman, because it fits most of the other criteria of a cozy mystery.

That's a total of six, and we're almost half-way through the year.  I need to get busy!  I've read a few other mysteries this spring, but I'm not sure if they fit the "cozy" subgenre as defined for the challenge.  Luckily, I have plenty of other cozies on my TBR list!

  1. I'm doing this one too and I'll be at goal when I finish the book I'm reading; then I'll need to choose a new goal.

    Good luck!

I love to hear what you have to say -- really! Unfortunately, I've been getting a lot of spam in addition to your wonderful comments, so I've had to turn on comment moderation. That means your comment may not post right away. I promise I'll post it -- and answer it -- as soon as I can!
