I didn't get as many reviews out as I wanted to this week, due to hitting the final week of my work project. It's due mid-week next week, after which I may get a breather.
Next Saturday is my 4th blogoversary! I didn't begin blogging consistently until about a year and a half ago, but I started this blog on 7/06/09. I'm still deciding how I want to celebrate. Any ideas?
The past week on the blog:
- Review: Close Knit Killer, by Maggie Sefton
- Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I've Read in 2013 So Far
- In the Dragon's Eye: Codex Born, by Jim C. Hines

The coming week:
- Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Most Intimidating Books
- 4th Blogoversary celebration
- News & Notes - 7/06/13
- Reviews TBD
A fictionalized biography of how Laura (and Rose) came to write the Little House books. I love Albert's Beatrix Potter mystery series, so I'm looking forward to this book! Thanks to Persevero Press, the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), and NetGalley.

I got Frankestein this week too--though I read this in high school. I'm sure I'll re-read it at some point. Also, I really want to read The Iron Druid series. Those look good. Happy reading!

I've been enjoying the Hearne books so far! Book 3, Hammered, is a bit darker, and there's a slower section in the early second half; I haven't finished it yet.
DeleteAs for Frankenstein, I'm embarrassed to say I haven't read it (yet.) It skirts a bit close to horror for me. I still haven't decided whether to listen to the audiobook, or read it.
I see wonderful books here!!
ReplyDeleteCome join me in my Asterix Reading challenge. Let's have fun together.
Here is my Sunday post
Asterix? I loved Asterix as a child. I haven't read one of those in ages! (Must run see if the library has any.)
DeleteNice new books! I also downloaded Do Not Disturb. Happy upcoming blogoversary!
ReplyDeleteHere's my book recap for the past week:

I read a bunch of the Pennyfoot Hotel books years and years ago, and liked them. I thought this was a good chance to revisit them; maybe I'll re-read the whole series.
DeleteI just celebrated my 1st blogoversary on Friday so I think that 4 years is incredible! Congrats in advance!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jennifer! I missed your blogoversary (I've been working really hard this weekend) so I just popped over and congratulated you. :-)
DeleteMy first few years were pretty erratic, so I'm not sure they count, exactly.
I have seen some great things about Hearnes books. I would love to start the series. Enjoy all your new books.

It's a fun series. At least, the first two were -- very funny as well as very action-packed. The third one still has funny moments but it is darker. I'm enjoying it as much, but not quite in the same way.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Congrats for the upcoming blogoversary. My oldest blog was five years old in April (I have eleven), and I didn't do much with it for over a year either.
ReplyDeleteI usually do a giveaway of some kind.
Good luck! Enjoy....and here's MY SUNDAY UPDATES/MAILBOX MONDAY
Thank you, Laurel-Rain! Yes, I'm thinking about a giveaway, but haven't figured out what it should be, yet. Most of my ARCs are e-ARCs, which I can't really give away. But I'll come up with something, or maybe somethings!
DeleteUnlocking the Truth looks good and congrats on your Blogoversery. Giveaways are always nice and may generate some new followers. Glad the project will be done Weds and you can relax a little. Have a lovely week! The Sunday Post
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kimba! I've already peeped into Unlocking the Truth, and I think it will be good. I'm thinking about a giveaway for the blogoversary, but haven't quite decided what, yet. Gotta get this project done first! Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteCongrats on your blogoversary. I'm impressed you've been at it for four years.
ReplyDeleteI downloaded the first Hearnes book this week and look forward to it. Do Not Disturb looks cute. I haven't read any of them.
I'm not entirely sure I can say I've been at it for four years! The first year or two, I would go months without posting anything. But it's still hard to believe I started it four years ago.
DeleteEnjoy Hounded! The series has been fun so far.
