4-Year Blogoversary! Celebration and Giveaway

Four years ago today, I started The Bookwyrm's Hoard with a post titled "Introduction, or, Why On Earth Am I Doing This?"   I was a pretty erratic blogger for the first several years, averaging only a few posts per month, and sometimes none.  But I had fun, even if hardly anyone was reading the blog back then.

About a year and a half ago, I got more serious about the blog.  I've been posting more, developing more of a schedule, joining a few memes, participating in one or two blog tours, and interacting with other bloggers.  I'm still having fun -- actually, I think I'm having more fun!  I've met some great people, made some lovely friends, had some interesting conversations, and stretched my reading horizons a bit.

So today, I want to say thank you to everyone who makes this such a rewarding experience. To celebrate, I'm throwing a book-themed virtual costume party, complete with door prizes!  Come dressed as your favorite character.  I'll supply the virtual food and drinks: coffee, tea, iced tea, raspberry lemonade, and chilled wine; sandwiches, deviled eggs, crab dip and homemade bread, fresh fruit salad, scones with whipped cream and jam, fairy cakes, homemade cookies (biscuits, for my friends on the other side of the pond) and a great big chocolate cake.

I'll be giving away four prizes, one for each year I've been blogging: a $15 Amazon or Book Depository gift certificate, Sherryl Woods' Sand Castle Bay (Kindle ebook released this spring, which I enjoyed), an ARC of Gwen Cooper's Love Saves the Day, and a handmade bookmark.

To enter, use the Rafflecopter widget below.  I'll draw four names at random from your responses.  (If you live outside the US and Canada, you're only eligible for the gift certificate and the ebook -- sorry!)  The contest ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on June 12.

ETA: Oh, and what about my costume?  I'm dressed as Beauty from Robin McKinley's Beauty, because I've always wanted that library with all the books in it -- even the ones that haven't been written yet.

  2. (Btw, forgot to mention, I'd be dressed up as a member of the rohirrim from LOTR for the costume party--like a female version of Eomer, lol--because I always wanted to dress up all bad-ass in armour ;))

    1. What fun! Which Doctor? (I'm not up on which one wears what, except that one of them had a fez and several of them had a super-long striped scarf.)

    1. Bilbo would love deviled eggs and raspberry lemonade, wouldn't he? (Before switching to ale, anyway!) I'd love to see your Bilbo costume! ;-)

I'm glad we've "met", too! Thank you for coming to my party. :) (But what is soap confetti?)

  6. Congratulations...four years is great! Crab dip and homemade bread sounds yummy. I can't decide what costume to wear. I guess I probably come dressed as Mercy Thompson all tattooed and ready to shift to a coyote!

    1. I expect they are -- and the back of your dress is scorched from standing in front of the fire, too. ;-) I love Jo, too. Thank you so much for coming by!

    1. Belle is another favorite of mine -- though actually, I prefer Beauty from Robin McKinley's first retelling of the story. Come to think of it, I forgot to mention that's who I'm dressed as! I'd better go add that into the post!

So glad you stopped by, and enjoy the scones! My daughter makes them, and they're delicious.

  12. Aw happy 4 years!! It's a lot of fun isn't it?

Alright I'm totally drooling over the cake. Ahh I'd do naughty things for some cake right now. LOL 4am and nothing is open here and not a sweet in sight at the house. So not good! Hmmm I think I'd come as a vampire. They have the best clothes :)

I love to hear what you have to say -- really! Unfortunately, I've been getting a lot of spam in addition to your wonderful comments, so I've had to turn on comment moderation. That means your comment may not post right away. I promise I'll post it -- and answer it -- as soon as I can!
