Sunday Post -- 4/14/13

The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  It's a chance to share news.  A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

The past week on the blog:

The coming week:

  • Tues. 4/16: Top Ten Tuesday:
  • Sat. 4/06: News & Notes
  • and several reviews (to be determined, depending on how far I get with various ARCs!)

New arrivals:

For Review:

Thanks to L. C. at the Penguin Group for The River of No Return.  So far, it's really good!  The other two are from NetGalley.  I can't wait to read that Temeraire novel -- but I'll have some catching up to do, since I'm listening to the second book of the series now!

Won:

Many thanks to Lori from Escape With Dollycas Into a Good Book, who also sent some lovely  bookmarks

From the Library:

My daughter snagged Hexed before we even got home.  That's OK; I have plenty of other books to read first!

Bought or downloaded for my eReader:

  1. You had a good week on your blog! I keep thinking I will start Naomi Novik's series. One of these days...

I definitely need the book to clear out clutter!

    1. I loved Hounded, the first book, so I'm eager to read this one. I've got several ARCs to finish first, though, so she can have Hexed for a little while. It's a lot of fun sharing so many bookish interests with her.

      Thanks for stopping by!

    1. We're having absolutely GORGEOUS weather today and yesterday -- perfect spring weather! And there are white-and-purble violets all over our front lawn.

I guess your girls share your taste in books, too? My daughter and I can talk books for hours, and I love it that she recommends as many titles to me as I do to her.

  6. River of No Return looks REALLY good. I've just added it to Goodreads and I'm going to add the first book in the Temeraire series as well because I haven't really read a good book/series with dragons since Eragon so it's about time I think! :) Happy reading Lark!

    1. So far, River of No Return is wonderful. I'm really liking it!

If you like dragons you'll probably love Temeraire... especially if you also like either Jane Austen or Patrick O'Brien.

      Have a great week!

  7. Interesting haul. Love the cover for The River of No Return, the title makes me want to know more. The decluttering book, I need that, I adore decluttering, feels so good :-)

Thanks for visiting me earlier :-)

    1. Oh, boy, you can't imagine how badly I need to declutter! We've been in the same house for... well, it will be 20 years in August. Things just sort of accumulate, if you know what I mean. And I've never been very good at getting rid of things, but it does feel good once it's done.

  8. Hexed! I <3 Atticus and Oberon. :)

A book on clearing clutter; yeah I could use that. :D

    Happy Reading!

    1. I absolutely loved the first book in the Temeraire series -- I reviewed it here just last week. If you like dragons, you'll probably like it. If you also like either Jane Austen or the Master and Commander series or the Sharpe series, you'll probably love the Temeraire books.

    1. I need to do that, too! But we can't have yard sales in our neighborhood, so I take most of it to Goodwill or the Friends of the Library booksale.
