Taking the Clean out your E-Reader Challenge!

Clean out your E-reader Challenge Sign-up

I've signed up for the Clean out your E-reader Challenge hosted by Fantasy is More Fun and Because Reading is more fun.  The focus of the challenge is ebook freebies, whether downloaded from a retailer like Amazon or received for review through NetGalley or Edelweiss.  Pirated copies don't count and will disqualify you, but the hosts are very kindly allowing books purchased for less than $5.00.  That's great for me, because the ones I most want to read (that aren't ARCs) were all purchased as deals rather than downloaded free.

My goal is currently set at "Spring Clean -- 5 to 10 ebooks", because I have a lot of review copies to read this month, and they won't count them toward the challenge unless I post the review in November.  Since some publishers prefer reviewers to wait until closer to publication, that rules some of my already-scheduled November reading out of the challenge.

Here are the ARCs I hope to count toward the challenge:
  •  A Study in Darkness (Emma Jane Holloway)
  • Candlelight Christmas (Susan Wiggs)
  • Christmas in Snowflake Canyon (RaeAnn Thayne)
  • A Fool's Gold Christmas (Susan Mallery)
  • Freezer I'll Shoot (Victoria Hamilton)
  • Murderous Matrimony (Joyce and Jim Lavene)
  • Christmas on 4th Street (Susan Mallery)
  • Miracle Road (Emily March)
  • Palace of Spies (Sarah Zettel)
  • A Banquet of Lies (Michelle Diener)
And here are a few non-ARC books I'd like to read if I have time:
  • The Art of Detection by Laurie R. King ($0.99)
  • The Sweetest Spell by Suzanne Selfors ($2.24)
  • Blackberry Summer by RaeAnne Thayne ($1.99)
  • Suddenly Royal by Nichole Chase ($2.79)

In addition to all those, I have 2 print ARCs I must read in November, plus 3 or 4 more I will try to get to.  Phew! Wish me luck!

I keep thinking about joining this challenge. I just have so much on my plate already.

    1. Thank you! In my case, most of what I have on my plate, blog-wise, happens to be ebook review copies, so the challenge goes hand-in-hand with what I need to read anyway. But with the way my indexing projects have picked up, it's going to be a real challenge to get to all of those.

    1. Thanks, Michelle. I hope to get to all the ARCs, but the ones at the bottom of the list are iffy; I doubt I'll have time for them. My November schedule has been filling up rapidly.

  6. Nice list - you've got some great Christmas picks on there (are you doing the Ho-Ho-Ho read-athon?). Good luck, can't wait to see the reviews :-)

    1. How did you guess? Yes, I'm doing the Ho-Ho-Ho RAT. I'm going to need those light books after the indexing project I've been working on. Very complicated, challenging scholarly book. Some nice Christmas romances will be just the thing!

  8. It looks like your challenging will be really challenging. But, you will certainly be left in the Christmas spirit (I hope) with all those themed ARCs you have. Good luck!

    1. I think I bit off more than I can chew, given everything else I've got going on. But I'm not giving up! Off to do some more reading!

I love to hear what you have to say -- really! Unfortunately, I've been getting a lot of spam in addition to your wonderful comments, so I've had to turn on comment moderation. That means your comment may not post right away. I promise I'll post it -- and answer it -- as soon as I can!
