I'm finding it harder to balance working from home and blogging than I thought it would be. I did pretty well two weeks ago, thanks in part to several pre-scheduled posts. This week? Not so much. I did manage one review and a few other posts, but I'd really like to get further ahead in terms of scheduling posts.

New additions to the hoard:
For Review:
An Old Betrayal sounds really good- somehow I missed your review when it came out but just read it. Adding that one to my list. Looking forward to your posts on the Renaissance festival mystery (I've heard of that series but never tried it) and also The Wanderers (nice to see a fellow blogger's book get some attention!).
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Greg, with your interest in the Tasha Alexander books, I think you would like the Charles Lenox series. I'll trade -- I'll try a Tasha Alexander if you'll try one of these! Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteOoo Through the Evil Days looks good, and creepy. Take two weeks off from blogging, wirte reviews for books you read pre-blog and schedule them over 2-3 weeks on your blog. Perferably three weeks. Then start reading review books and posting them out three weeks (since you already have 2-3 weeks done) You will always be ahead, and the pressure will be gone.
ReplyDeleteKimba, that is a brilliant idea - consider yourself hugged! Actually, I'm about 5 books behind in reviewing right now, and there are always old favorites I'd like to review for 'Treasures from the Hoard', so there is plenty there to work with for scheduling ahead. Maybe I'll limp on through mid-December, then take a few weeks off while I'm travelling during the holidays and do exactly what you suggest. Thank you!
DeleteI'm jealous you won the new Julia Spencer-Fleming book. I want to get it, but it's still pretty expensive. :( I'll look forward to reading what you think of it. The other books you got look good, too. I hope you have better luck balancing work, home and blogging. I know how hard that can be sometimes.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really good! I hope I can get to it before the holidays, but we'll see... I've still got a lot of work to get through before I take off for Christmas break.
DeleteSo many good books! Glad you are going to read The Wanderers; I am thinking of it since it is another blogger who wrote it and probably is wonderful fantasy tale. Murderous Matrimony reminds me that I wanted to start that series. I have gone to a few Renaissance faires and just love them!.I read the first two Julia Spencer-Flemings, haven't read the third but got the 4th used, so I should pick up that series again. I found them a very good read. Thanks again for so many good articles to read this week :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know you've enjoyed the Julia Spencer-Fleming books; this will be my first (I know, I'm starting out of order) but I really like the premise - the woman Episcopal priest as detective. And Spencer-Fleming is one of the Jungle Reds; I've followed their blog for a while now.
DeleteI hope you enjoy the new additions. Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
Jenea @ Books Live Forever's Sunday Post
Thanks, Jenea! I'm glad you popped by, too! Enjoy your week.
DeleteI like the cover for Murderous Matrimony.
ReplyDeleteI am feeling quite proud of myself for having several of this week's posts ready last week; it doesn't happen as often as I'd like. Prepping posts takes time, no matter when you do it.
Finding the balance can be difficult and sometimes blogging has to be a lower priority. Don't stress over it, life's too short.
Thank you, Bea. That last sentence sums up a very useful philosophy of life, and one I really need to take to heart! I'll try to remember that and be a little more relaxed about it!
DeleteI usually participate in a Mt. TBR Challenge...but I think my e-reader could use some work, too. So I'm going to ponder the Clean out the E-reader Challenge.
ReplyDeleteI did finish my Cozies Challenge, too, but didn't have a very big goal. Maybe I'll expand it for next year.
Here's MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES
Sometimes I think it's better not to set the goal too high -- especially for a year-long challenge. I set my COYER goal too high, I think, given how much work I ended up with this month. On the other hand, it's useful and keeps me plugging at the ARCs in my ereader. I do plan to do the Cozies Challenge again next year, because it reminds me how much I enjoy the genre.
DeleteYour upcoming books sound good. I know what you mean about balancing home and blogging. It's not easy. I've been joining challenges for next year that I hope will help me read my Netgalley downloads.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
I'd love to know what some of those challenges are, Yvonne! I might sign up for one or two myself.
DeleteGreat new books, Lark. I'd like to read them all! Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Catherine! I know; I want to read "all the books" too - or even half the ones I see on other people's blogs. But there's this little thing called real life... *grins*
DeleteHooray for completing the cozy mystery challenge! I completed it also, though I many squeeze in a couple more before the end of the year.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Diana! I'm planning to squeeze in a few more, too.
DeleteI totally forgot about the Netgalley chellenge! I need to go link up my reviews, lol. I hope you manage to get ahead on your blog schedule!
ReplyDeleteNot yet, but Kimba had a great suggestion for me. And at least today (Wed.) I caught up on all the comments I was behind on!
DeleteAh, in my case, it's catching up on reading instead of posts. I'm still surprised I can balance that and school at the same time... O_o
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Bookwyrming Thoughts! :)
