The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It's a chance to share news, a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.I'm also adjusting a bit better this fall to Robin being gone. I miss her, of course! I miss fangirling over books, I miss hugs and laughing together and taking her out to practice her driving. But I hear from her often, which helps a lot. She's doing well even though the class she's taking during block has a lot of homework.* And I'm doing pretty well at home.
So. . . I'm feeling pretty good about life this week. How about you?
* Robin's college has an odd schedule: a not-quite-4-week block course at the beginning of the semester, followed by about 11 weeks of a more "normal" semester where you take 3 or sometimes 4 classes. Most courses are 4 credits. It gets pretty intense.

This is embarrassing. I had an e-ARC of The Thinking Woman's Guide to Real Magic last year, but got in a time crunch and only read about 1/2 of it (maybe 3/5) before I had to write the review. I was straight-up about that in the review, but of course, the e-ARC expired before I could get back to the book. So now, I'm finally going to get to finish it. I hope!

ReplyDeleteSeriously, I don't think I've ever actually read Mercedes Lackey, though I certainly should have by now. I need to actually sit down and read one. Looking forward to your review tomorrow.
The Keri Arthur also looks pretty good.

I think some of Lackey's earlier books from the 80s and 90s are among her best, if that helps. And I enjoyed the Keri Arthur series; I've never read her before. Good luck with your homework, and thanks for stopping by!

I think we've all had an eARC issue at some point or another. I've had books I know I sent over through NetGalley never come through to my Kindle and didn't realize until I was supposed to read them and they were archived and I couldn't send them again. 0.0

ReplyDeleteGlad that you're getting back on schedule and that everyone is adjusting. When Eleanor went it wasn't quite a big deal because we still had 2 teenagers and a preschooler. I have a feeling when Emma goes next year it's going to be really strange though since that will leave us with only 1 teenager and 1 preschooler. Don't even get me thinking about when Paul goes!
