Heads Up -- August 2012

It's the beginning of August, and I thought I'd give you a preview of what I have planned for the blog over the next month or two.

I just finished Home from the Sea, the newest Elemental Masters fantasy from Mercedes Lackey (and one of the books on my summer TBR list.)  I'll post my review within the week.

Where Azaleas Bloom,  the tenth Sweet Magnolias novel by Sherryl Woods, will hit the stores on August 28.  It's a warm, second-chance romance.  I've been lucky enough to get an e-ARC; look for my review in the next few days.

Seraphina is finally in at my public library, and they're holding a copy for me.  I've been eager to read this YA fantasy about shape-shifting dragons living among humans since I first saw the cover, and the reviews I've read since then have only increased my excitement.  I'm out of town for a few days, but I'll make a library run as soon as I get home.  Expect the review by midmonth!  (You can read about the book here.)

I've finished reading Mary Jo Putney's historical romance No Longer a Gentleman, a Lost Lords novel (and another book from my TBR list.)  I'll be posting a review sometime this month.

There are still a number of books on my summer TBR list, and I keep adding more.  New additions to the TBR list include Frances Hardinge's Fly By Night and Jennifer Nielson's The False Prince.  I've put in hold requests at the library for both of them, and hope to make my way to the top of the waiting lists before the end of the month.

Finally, I'm excited to announce that I will be participating in the blog tour for Susan Wiggs' Return to Willow Lake on Sept. 2.  I'll have a review and a special treat -- a Q&A with Susan herself!  Return to Willow Lake tells the story of a woman who leaves an ideal career and boyfriend and returns home to help her mother through a crisis.  But being home forces her to reassess what really matters to her -- and to work with the man she considers her biggest mistake.  The novel is the 9th book in Susan Wiggs' Lakeshore Chronicles, and will be released on August 28.

I love to hear what you have to say -- really! Unfortunately, I've been getting a lot of spam in addition to your wonderful comments, so I've had to turn on comment moderation. That means your comment may not post right away. I promise I'll post it -- and answer it -- as soon as I can!
