The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It's a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Another busy week, culminating in a visit from my parents, which has been lovely. The coming week promises to be even busier -- it's Holy Week, which for a church choir member means extra rehearsals and lots of extra services. The only night I won't be singing (between Monday and Sunday) is Wednesday, and even that night I should be at yet another rehearsal! Of course, I wouldn't be doing all this singing if I didn't love it; it's another of my passions, along with reading.

New arrivals:
From the Library:
Freebies for my eReader:
Huzzah -- I finally made it through the library waiting list for Scarlet! I'm also looking forward to The Children of Kings. Deborah Ross has done pretty well carrying on Bradley's Darkover series.
Freebies for my eReader:
I haven't the least idea when I'll get around to reading these, but they looked interesting... sigh.
A busy week is better than a boring week (well, at least most of the time)! And it's nice to be able to see your family.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice holy week.
Thank you, Rachel! Yes, busy beats boring any week. :-) I wish you a wonderful week, as well.
DeleteGreat group of books. I am curious about Daphne. Enjoy them all.
ReplyDeleteJenea @ Books Live Forever's Sunday Post
I'm curious about it, too, but heaven only knows when I'll get to it... Too many books, too little time.
DeleteYay for Scarlet! I really enjoyed that one! I also have The Fallen Star by Jessica Sorensen. I haven't read it yet, but I've read two of her other books recently that I really enjoyed so I need to jump on that soon! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my SP & STS.
Sandy @ Somewhere Only We Know
Glad to hear that Sorensen's other books are good! I look forward to reading The Fallen Star... sometime. (See my reply above re too little time!)
DeleteI've been working on my TBR pile, too; I joined the Mt. TBR Challenge and did a check-in post this week.
ReplyDeleteI must read the rest of Lisa Kleypas's series about Friday Harbor.
Here's MY SUNDAY SALON POST
I'm in the middle of Crystal Cove right now, and having mixed feelings about it. I like the heroine; I'm not sure about the hero. And she's made some choices that make me a little uncomfortable. Despite that, it's entertaining.
DeleteI read the first book in the Friday Harbor series and enjoyed it. I've heard a few other readers say they didn't care for the hero of Crystal Cove. I'm interested to find out why! Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteBook of Secrets: Sunday Post
I'll be reviewing Crystal Cove next week (with luck and time.) As for readers' dislike of the hero, I suspect it's in part because he's a heavy-duty alpha with an ulterior motive and underhanded tactics.
DeleteI also read and reviewed Etiquette and Espionage as part of Kimba's TBR challenge. I liked it but didn't love it. You got some freebies that I missed but I really need to slow down on the freebies anyway. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I *loved* it, but I liked it a lot! Yeah, I wasn't sure I should pick up those freebies, because my TBR list is so long already. I don't always read the freebies anyway... Then again, I've read some that I really liked, so I decided to take the chance.
DeleteScarlet and the Da Vinci code were great..enjoy and good luck with choir. The Sunday Post
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to start Scarlet -- but I promised someone I would read Turner's The Thief next. Thanks -- we'll need the luck! (This is church choir, not the choruses I direct.)
DeleteI'm in Holy Week choir and practices too! Favorite time of year. <3 Hope yours go well--have a blessed week!!
ReplyDeleteProps on getting hold of Scarlet... I still have to read Cinder. :)
I really liked Cinder, despite a certain predictability. There is plenty of originality mixed in with the fairy tale, and I loved Cinder as a character.
DeleteI wish you a blessed week as well! Yes, I love this time of year -- but it's vocally demanding.
Thank you! I'm glad you stopped by -- have a great week!
ReplyDeleteNice collection! And glad to see you got Kraiser Affair as well. :D
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy all your books when you get to them. :)
I have a Sunday Post up this week too, if you'd like to stop by...
